Kotagiri or Kothagiri is a taluk and a Town Panchayat city[citation needed] in The Nilgiris District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the third largest hill station in the Nilgiri hills. Catherine Falls is a stunning waterfall located near Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. The sceneries around were very beautiful fresh and refreshing cool air to breath. We could hear the waterfall, we were near to it but unable to find where it is.No one else was around to ask. We went ahead- still the water fall was not visible, but when turned back. It was a beaughtifull sight to see. Really amaizing, as it was monsoon time the water fall was full with splashing water. the beauty of waterfall attracted us to go near and fell the splash but going near was not that easy, it was steep and tea shrubs around. ​Hidden amidst the lush greenery of Kotagiri in Tamil Nadu, Uyilatti Falls is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by nature enthusiasts. Doddabetta (தொட்டபெட்டா) is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Mountains at 2,637 metres (8,650 feet). There is a reserved forest area around the peak. It is 9 km from Ooty, on the Ooty-Kotagiri Road in the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu, India. It is a popular tourist attraction with road access to the summit. It is the fourth highest peak in South India next to Anamudi, Mannamalai and Meesapulimala. The peaks Hecuba (2375 m), Kattadadu (2418 m) and Kulkudi (2439 m) are the three closely linked summits in the west of the Doddabetta range near to Udagamandalam.
