The design of the Big Buddha incorporates elements of traditional Thai and Burmese architecture. The statue is seated in the Mara posture, symbolizing steadfastness, purity, and enlightenment. In addition to its religious significance, the site offers breathtaking panoramic views of Phuket and the surrounding Andaman Sea. The Big Buddha is located near Chalong Bay, making it accessible to visitors exploring the southern part of the island.Visitors are welcome to explore the site, pay respects, and make donations to support the maintenance of the Big Buddha and the surrounding area. The site has a parking area, stairs leading up to the statue, and a plaza with small shops. Modest dress is recommended when visiting religious sites. The Big Buddha site hosts various events and ceremonies, especially during Thai Buddhist festivals.​
