Angkor Thom

Angkor Thom was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire, located near modern-day Siem Reap in Cambodia. Angkor Thom was established in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. It served as the capital of the Khmer Empire from the late 12th century to the early 15th century. Angkor Thom was a monumental city designed to be the center of political, administrative, and religious power of the Khmer Empire. The city is surrounded by a massive square wall, and it covers an area of about 9 square kilometers.
