The Kulasai Mutharamman Temple, located in Kulasekharapattinam in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi district, is a revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Mutharamman, a fierce and benevolent form of Shakti (Amman). The town’s name is said to come from King Kulasekaran, who received a divine vision of the goddess. The temple’s famed Dussehra festival also connects to the myth of Mahishasura, a cursed form of Saint Varamuni, who was slain by the goddess, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
