About Devils Kitchen Guna Cave

Guna Caves is a scenic heritage site,is nestled on the outskirts of Kodaikanal near Moir Point,Tamil Nadu, India. Popular among trekkers, the site is famously referred to as "Devil’s Kitchen" due to the bat colonies that inhabit the warm, narrow caverns lending the place a mysterious and eerie charm.Devil's Kitchen is a set of deep, dark chambers between three huge rocks that are seemingly hanging from each other. The rocks are popularly known as Pillar Rocks. Access to the actual caves may be restricted due to safety concerns, but visitors can still explore the surrounding areas and enjoy the views. According to local legends, Devil's Kitchen is associated with the mythological story of Bheema, one of the Pandava brothers from the Mahabharata. It is believed that this site was used as a refuge by the Tamil King Raja Raja Chola. Devil's Kitchen has been featured in several Indian movies, contributing to its popularity.
