About Dhanushkodi Beach

Dhanushkodi Beach, located at the southeastern tip of Rameswaram Island in Tamil Nadu, is a breathtaking stretch of untouched coastline where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean. Known as the “ghost town,” Dhanushkodi was destroyed during the 1964 cyclone, leaving behind haunting ruins and a mystical atmosphere. Today, it stands as a symbol of nature’s power and serene beauty. The beach is famed for its crystal-clear waters, white sands, and panoramic views of the endless sea. Unlike commercial beaches, Dhanushkodi remains largely unspoiled, offering a tranquil and almost surreal experience. Standing at the tip, visitors can see the meeting point of two seas, a rare and magical sight. The Ruins of the old town, including a church, railway station, and post office, add a historical charm.
