Laxmi Bai Shinde was one of the devotees of Sai Baba, who was with him when he passed away. She was the only woman who was allowed inside the mosque when the curtains were down. She used to prepare food for the saint and in return got coins. Just before Sai Baba died, he gave her a total of nine rupees. These coins are still kept in her house along with Laxmi Bai's statue. The house is open to public and located in the center of the town, in front of the samadhi.
