Humayun's Tomb

Humayun's Tomb is situated in the eastern part of Delhi, in the Nizamuddin East area. It is easily accessible from various parts of the city and is located near the Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah. Built in the mid-16th century, Humayun's Tomb is a prime example of Mughal architecture and is considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal. The tomb was commissioned by Empress Bega Begum, the widow of Emperor Humayun, and it was designed by the Persian architect Mirak Mirza Ghiyas.
