Kashi Vishwanath Temple

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple, also known as the Golden Temple, is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the ancient and sacred city of Varanasi (Banaras), Uttar Pradesh, India. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple holds immense religious significance for Hindus. The gold plating on the dome was a donation by the Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the 19th century. The temple complex also houses the Gyanvapi Mosque, which was constructed in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb after partially demolishing the original Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The remnants of the old temple can still be seen within the mosque complex.
