About Kovalam Beach

Kovalam Beach also was known as Covelong is an extremely beautiful beach located in the state of Tamil Nadu. This scenic beach is situated in a small fishing village In addition, this beach is known to provide the perfect ambience for “surfing”, and is known to be one of the few spots in the eastern coast where “wind surfing” is frequently undertaken. It's a nice quite beach good for outing with family and friends. If you are a seafood lover then it's the place to be, the road leading to beach has numerous sea food restaurants. You can even buy fresh fish which is just bought in by the local fishermen and get it cleaned on the beach itself. Nice place to visit. The waves are at their wildest during the monsoon season (June through September), and surf competitions are held during this time. Temperatures peak in April and May, and if you happen to be in Chennai during this time, a visit to the beach can provide a cooling retreat.
