Arulmigu Mangaleswari Udanurai Mangalanatha Swamy Temple, located in Uthirakosamangai near Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu, is an ancient and revered temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, known here as Mangalanatha Swamy. Goddess Parvati is worshipped as Mangaleswari Amman. This temple holds a deep spiritual significance and is believed to be one of the oldest Shiva temples in South India, with references found in ancient scriptures and Tamil literature. According to legend, Lord Shiva appeared here to grant salvation to the sage Mandukya, who performed intense penance. The temple is said to have been established during the Sangam era, and it’s believed that the divine wedding of Shiva and Parvati took place at this sacred site. The temple’s peaceful atmosphere and powerful vibrations draw devotees seeking blessings for a prosperous and harmonious life. The temple’s architecture showcases traditional Dravidian style, with a majestic tower (gopuram), carved stone pillars, and intricate sculptures.
