Panjim Church

The church is situated in the main square of Panaji, known as the Church Square or Municipal Garden. The church is an iconic example of Baroque architecture and is one of the oldest churches in Goa. The original church was built in the early 16th century, but the current structure dates back to the 17th century. The church underwent renovations and expansions over the years. A large bell that was originally part of the Augustinian Monastery in Old Goa is on display outside the church. The church is a focal point during religious festivals, especially during the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on December 8th each year.
