Sandalwood has several medicinal properties and is used as a remedy for skin problems, digestive complications, nausea and gastritis.Kerala, may have protected sandalwood forests where the trees are conserved and managed for sustainable harvesting. Sandalwood is a protected species, and its trade and harvesting are regulated by the government. There are strict regulations in place to prevent illegal harvesting and trade. Due to the high demand and commercial value of sandalwood, conservation efforts are often implemented to ensure the sustainable use of this resource. This may include planting sandalwood trees in protected areas.
