Sri Thirumalai Nambi Temple, nestled in the scenic hills near Thirukkurungudi in Tamil Nadu, is a sacred and serene temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, known here as Malai Nambi. Located approximately 8 km uphill from the main Thirukkurungudi Nambi Rayar Temple, this hill shrine offers both spiritual and natural beauty. In his deep devotion, Sri Sailapurna assumed the role of Thirumalai Nambi and performed theertha kainkaryam offering sacred water service to pilgrims at Tirumala. To commemorate his unwavering service, this temple was established on the hilltop. It is revered as one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Lord Vishnu. A unique tradition here is the Garuda Seva, celebrated not only on Purattasi Saturdays but every Saturday throughout the year. Believed to be one of the five sacred forms of Nambi worshipped in Thirukkurungudi, Thirumalai Nambi is venerated as the guardian deity of the hills. The journey to the temple itself is a unique experience either by trekking through lush paths or via a thrilling off-road jeep ride. Pilgrims often bathe in the nearby waterfalls and the Nambi River before offering prayers, as the water is considered purifying and even healing.
