The View Tower, situated on Beach Road near Kanyakumari Beach and just steps from the Kanyakumari Temple and Gandhi Mandapam, is a circular observation tower offering panoramic views of the southern tip of India.Constructed by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, the tower features five stories connected by a winding spiral staircase, with telescopes available on the upper levels for close-up views of distant landmarks .From the top, visitors command a 360-degree vista encompassing the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean converging at the ocean’s horizon. Key sights include the revered Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the towering Thiruvalluvar Statue, which appear especially striking at sunrise and sunset .Early mornings and late evenings are ideal for witnessing the dramatic play of light across the waters and sky .With a nominal entry fee around ₹3–₹10 for adults and ₹2–₹5 for children the View Tower is an affordable and accessible attraction open daily from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM .Located within about 1.3 km of the bus stand and 1.7 km from the railway station, the tower is easily reachable by foot, auto-rickshaw, or taxi from central Kanyakumari .Blessed with soothing sea breezes and scenic vistas, the View Tower is a perfect experience for photographers, nature lovers, and travelers seeking serenity, visual splendor, and a deeper connection with Kanyakumari’s natural and cultural heritage.
